I think Zechariah’s silent time was a time for him to listen and reflect. We all need silent time and I think sometimes God gives us what we need even when we don’t know what we need or don’t want to do what we need to do. I remember a Sister telling me that she had always wanted to write but could never find the time. She broke her leg and was basicly bed riden. She found the time to write.

Today’s action called for reflecting on some miracles of mercy that we have recieved. Having my mother and daughter live with me is a miracle of mercy. Spending this time together is a blessing even though it doesn’t always feel like one.

Reading the daily reflections each day has helped me focus on what is important. The readings really hit home with some decisions I had to make this past week. I know what He wanted me to do but I just couldn’t make myself respond until this week and I believe that love was the guide.

I read at mass this morning and thinking about these reflections as well make me wonder how to best live out the message of God’s love and mercy. We are gifted with so much. Maybe part of our gift is to share our. Hope for healing of all who suffer. My efforts seem so small. Yet it is only love that can overcome the evils of this world.
